Your team isn't stuck because they don't care. They're stuck because the system isn't clear.

As an MTSS consultant and speaker, I work with district and school leadership teams to build MTSS that functions as a real operating system, with clear decision rules, adult routines that stick, and implementation that doesn't depend on any one person staying at the school forever.

Keynotes and Professional Learning

Your team doesn't need more information. They need a new way of seeing the work.

I design keynotes and professional learning experiences for state conferences, professional organizations, and district/school leadership teams who are ready to move beyond awareness and into implementation that actually sustains.

For over 20 years I've been inside schools, districts, state departments of education doing this work and in multiple roles, I’m currently an MTSS consultant and researcher but I also served for five years as a statewide MTSS lead and for four years as an external district instructional and systems coach who has seen what separates systems that sustain from systems that stall. I've also sat in a lot of auditoriums watching professional development that inspired people in the moment and changed nothing by Monday.

And let’s just say, that's not me, that’s not what I build.

Every session I design is story-driven, evidence-informed, and grounded in the practical reality of what implementation actually looks like in real schools, with real constraints, real staff, and real kids.

From Compliance to Commitment: Building MTSS that Sustains

Most MTSS don't struggle because people aren't trying. They struggle because the system lacks the clarity, consistency, and shared leadership structures that make implementation sustainable over time. This keynote draws on research, two decades of implementation experience, and four leadership stories from schools across the country

Core themes:

  • Leaders as listeners and learners

  • Collaborative teaming builds commitment — not just compliance

  • Distributed leadership and data use create sustainability

  • Consistency and calibration reduce cognitive load in a changing world

Popular Session Topics (Perfect for breakout sessions or deeper dives following the keynote)

Celebration is the Fuel: Foster Commitment to Maintain Momentum

  • We'll unpack two powerful stories that illuminate what coherence really means and what the research verifies. We'll explore how distributed leadership creates the conditions for sustainability and why celebration is the fuel that keeps teams moving toward goals.
